Natural healing stories: Do you have a mind body healing story to tell?

Remember when Ron (who suffers with multiple sclerosis) described how visualizing his cat helped him recover from life-threatening pneumonia.

I felt my life force ebbing from me as I struggled to breath in my critical care bed. Shooting hot pains ripped through my tongue. I asked for healing. An image of my cat, Tom, appeared. Tom’s a big white, fluffy cat with green eyes. I felt the warm softness of his fur.

I heard his rhythmic purr and felt its subtle vibration. I could even smell a hint of his animal nature. My heart opened and I felt an enormous outpouring of love. That love filled me with peace and healing. My breathing eased, the pain in my tongue vanished. I continue to call on Tom [his image] whenever I feel scared or need comfort and healing.

Or how Mary overcame her crippling self-defeating thoughts to develop learned optimism.

What about the time I blew a fuse when I screwed up my website trying to make it perfect. I blamed my website host, I felt irritable, and I showed it—everyone knew to stay out of my way.

Later, after a restless night, I finally settled down. After morning meditation, I realized that I fell into two traps that block self improvement: the perfectionist trap and the fragmentation trap.

In short, I had a real life experience of how what appears to be your greatest weakness or greatest obstacle often ends up becoming the doorway to self improvement and healing.
